Another Success For East Coast Surfing

March 29th marked the 3rd annual Nor-Easter Surf Classic at White Point Lodge presented by Billabong and SANS. Who better to give us a quick wrap up than our man from FistFullaFives Steve Smith. Here’s what he had to say:
It was perfect “winter” conditions March 29,2008 at White Point Lodge for the 3rd Annual Nor-Easter Surf Classic presented by Billabong & SANS.
Friday night hit with a spring snowstorm leaving us with a beautiful white backdrop for Saturday mornings contest. Temperatures hovered around freezing so the snow stayed around all day and so did the shoulder high waves. The evening of course continued this contest’s legendary party scene with luckily no “incidents”!
Big thanks goes to John Fluke whose passion and organizational skills made it all happen along with Chrissy Clothier and Mark Goosney. Also to Jeff Norman of Rossignol Surf Shop, Walter Flower of South Shore Surf Shop, Lance Moore of Dacane, Jason Beach of Kannon Beach Surf Shop, and Stephanie Smith of Frozen Ocean. Also stepping up was Nixon Premium Accessories, Von Zipper, Kustom Red Bull and Coors Light, along with judges, volunteers and staff at White Point.
I would also like to give a big thank-you to Risto Scott and Amelie Lambert of Billabong who continue to step up and give us unprecedented support. Never before in Action sports has there been so much support given to Atlantic Canada and I am glad they believe in us!
Our next contest will be “The September Storm Surf Classic”, in you guessed it, September!
