The snow is still falling, the roads are icy and unsafe and the elderly are in the throws of terrible fits of arthritis. The beginning of spring has come and graced the Maritimes with it’s sunny disposition. But the blustery conditions may hold for a decent swell at White Point tomorrow for the Billabong Nor’Easter Surf Classic. That’s right. It’s a go. Obvious by the green traffic light cutout glowing proudly on the SANS website.

Over sixty competitors, plenty on the line (ISA team Canada positions at stake) and a night of wild debauchery followed by self imposed temple popping head strain and a long car ride back into the city Sunday morning. If a swell holds tomorrow it’ll be the makings of one wing ding of a weekend. Unfortunately I will be unable to attend the festivities, instead spending time at the Metro Centre documenting David Foster & Friends. We all have to pay our bills. Drive safe, surf hard and remember the Tylenol.

Oh and my computer is out of the coma but still not home where he belongs. We are accepting money donations, flowers and cards. I’ll be regular with my ranting in a few more days.

Mike
